Squiz attain Gold-level Enviro-Mark certification
07 Jul 2010
Following on from our recently attained Bronze-level Enviro-mark certification we have now completed the work necessary to be certified Gold-level and we are already working towards Platinum and Diamond-level as a prequel for ISO14001.
The Enviro-Mark certification programme is run in New Zealand by Crown research institute Landcare Research. The programme helps organizations to develop and implement an environmental management system (EMS), with independent audit and certification.
Gold–level certification is achieved through a third–party audit of the Bronze, Silver and Gold requirements and necessitates the production by Squiz of an appropriate environmental policy as well as the implementation and monitoring of continuous–improvement targets and objectives. An annual audit is required to maintain the certification
With the IT industry estimated to have a similar sized carbon footprint to the aviation industry, Squiz are dedicated to reducing their environmental impact as much possible and working towards making our business sustainable.
Squiz achieved Gold-level certification with the help of Greater Wellington's eMission programme, a one-year subsidised business sustainability and carbon reduction programme for businesses in the Wellington region.
