MATR 102 - Accessibilty Techniques for Editors

Description

This course extends the topics covered in the Squiz Matrix Fundamentals course and focusses on the methods used to achieve accessible content.

By the end of this course participants will have an understanding of:

  • What is meant by accessibility
  • How various disabilities affect Internet usage
  • The WCAG 2.0 POUR principles, guidelines and success criteria
  • Techniques for implementing the POUR principles in the WYSIWYG Editor, including:
    • Clearly written and well structured content
    • Effective and appropriate alt text
    • Meaningful links
    • Building accessible tables
    • Using the HTMl Tidy Accessibility Checker
  • Accessibility of non standard page content
  • Other useful tools

Pre-Requisites

Candidates must successfully complete MATR 101 - Squiz Matrix Fundamentals.

This course runs for one (1) day (9:00am - 5:00pm, including assessment)
