MATR 101 - Matrix Fundamentals

Description

This course teaches users the basics of how to use the Administration Interface of Matrix. Whilst focusing on how to perform the fundamental, day-to-day tasks such as creating pages and basic content, we also introduce more complex features of Matrix such as Workflows, Permissions, Metadata Schemas and more.

This course is not intended to be taken in isolation; rather it forms a foundation before progressing to one or more of the other courses (in particular, MATR 201). It is also an ideal course for people wishing to evaluate Matrix.

By the end of this course participants will be able to:

  • create pages and basic content
  • understand the publishing model
  • restructure the navigation hierarchy of your site
  • understand permissions
  • add metadata
  • understand the workflow approval process.

Pre-Requisites

In order for you to get the most out of this course, you should have:

  • an understanding of the fundamentals of how the Internet works e.g: Client-Server model, Web Hosting, Browser caching, etc
  • experience using Windows Operating Systems like NT, XP or 2000
  • experience in managing or updating components of a website (e.g: using Dreamweaver, Frontpage or other).

Duration

This course runs for one day (9am-5pm, including exam).

Two Training Units.

Exam with practical and theory components.
